Sean Thomas Allen [BArch MArch] was born in Yorkshire, England.
He joined Hawkins\Brown Architects as a Part II Architectural Assistant after graduating from the
University of Greenwich School of Architecture with a distinction [2016] under the tutalage of
Pascal Bronner and Thomas Hillier.
He became a Laureate of The Jacques Rougerie Innovation in Architecture for Space ‘Grand Prix Award’ [2018], was awarded special recognition at the annual _Laka. Architecture that Reacts international design competition [2018] and received a commendation in an international lunar architecture design competition judged by NASA [2017]. He has been published widely on international design blogs such as Dezeen, ArchDaily and designboom and was noted in the Architects Journal [2015] after being awarded the school technical award [2015]. Sean had part of his thesis design project ‘Platinum City’ exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art [2016] after receiving a commendation at the Krob international architectural drawing competition in 2016 and 2017.
In addition to his work at Hawkins\Brown, Sean also tutors design computation at The Bartlett School of Architecture – UCL and has acted as a visiting critic for the University of Nottingham’s architecture
department in Ningbo and Beijing.
During his year out, Sean completed a yearlong internship in China where he worked as part of a design
competition team in various parts of the country from sleepy fishing harbours to immense mining facilities.
